Name: Edgar Blackburn/Inspector Goole/Wraith.
Age: 34.
Race: Superhuman.
Place of Birth: America.
Current city: Traveling.
Power(Genetic/Magic/Item)[Please Label Your Power as one of the three]:
(Magic) Deity Soul. Edgar has a shard of a deity’s being as a soul. This soul allows him to reincarnate, perform Magic, Cosmic Awareness, and the ability to Transcend to a higher plane of consciousness. (Only possible when his Cosmic Awareness reaches 100%)
(Magic) Magick, bro. Given by Deity Soul. Edgar is a fresh adept. He is quite capable with his magick, and knows many tricks. He does not focus on physical effects such as elemental magic, but rather ethereal magick. (I have my own system for it, but it’s far too complicated to explain. I’ve already got 3 hours sunk into this damned app) He can enter other people’s dreams, utilize telepathy, teleport, affect Chance and Luck, arrest (or increase) entropy, making things fall apart, or function far longer than normally possible. He can do this with bodies, granting people good health for years, or blighting them with an early death in a matter of weeks. This is not an exhaustive list. Vast permutations exist, more than I care to count.
(Magic) Cosmic Awareness. Limited; he doesn’t know everything, but has the /potential/ to, and can learn more. Given By Deity Soul.

Appearance (At least 50 words): Edgar is pale, thin, and very tall. 6’5”, 175 lbs. His eyes are slightly sunken and the area around them is darkened. His hands are chilly, and bony, but very nimble. He usually sports gloves, a dark trench coat, and a fedora. Edgar looks like a ghoul, and constantly stalks around as quietly as possible. Force of habit, it seems. His voice runs like oil slick; slippery, and icky for the environment.
Personality (At least 50 words): Edgar is quiet and reflective. He won’t often voice his opinion, unless it involves him directly, or someone else criticizes him first. He views his job as a dirty-but-necessary job, and doesn’t take pride in it. He is a loner at first glance, but underneath it all lies the heart of a martyr; dooming himself for the benefit of others and the world.
History (At least 200 words): Edgar was born in England, but his parents moved to the U.S.A before he learned how to speak, thus eliminating his English accent. His parents were moderately well-off, but despite his “rich kid” status in the city of Ardougne, he was constantly criticized by bullies, Edgar being very smart and “spoiled rotten so others said, despite it not being true. When he was 13, after a beat-session by the Bully and his Cronies, Edgar spat out a scathing remark, to which The Bully left promptly, leaving his cronies to finish the session.
4 days later, When Edgar was asleep, the sound of gunshots announced its fatal presence to the family. Edgar awoke, and stayed in his bed until the tromping clunks of heavy boots exited the building. Rousing his courage, he sneaked out of his room, to find his parent’s room door open. Going inside, he found a mangle of bodies, his mother in bed and his father on the ground, baseball bat in his hand. Edgar cried.
After Edgar’s neighbors called the police, authorities quickly caught the criminal; the Bully’s father. Edgar was filled with misunderstanding and sadness. But he learned one thing; no matter how good you are, bad things happen to them.
His childhood was sad, punctuated briefly my moments of joy, only to be squashed again. He never was happy for long, despite his adoptive parents lavishing him with gifts and love. He turned inward, and was sent to therapy sessions, which helped minimally. Edgar graduated valedictorian from his class, and was on a promising path. He had a girlfriend, Maria, and his mood was improving. She filled his life. But someone came back for revenge… the Bully.
When Edgar and Maria were watching a movie side-by-side, The Bully burst in, whipped out a Magnum, and blew away the first thing in his sight; Maria. The bullet missed Edgar by an inch, but caught Maria right in the side, and ricocheted off the inside of her shoulder blade right into her midsection diagonally. Edgar acted quickly, rushing the Bully, immobilizing him, and for what seemed like the first time, an empowerment. He grabbed a throw pillow, and suffocated the bully in a fit of rage. Then, it clicked; something deep inside him awoke.
Edgar got away scot-free with the murder of the Bully, pleading self-defense. His inherited fortune also helped in garnering a good lawyer.
After he won the trial, he was approached by a mysterious group called The Ebony Moths. They convinced the Agnostic Edgar that the world was in transition constantly; energy produced by death was re-woven into different forms. However, when bad people enter the world, they bind up this energy, and corrupt it. The Moth’s goals was to change or kill any of these horrible people, releasing the bad energy within them, in hopes that it will take a better form. Edgar bought it, and quickly became an initiate in their teachings. He asked frequently “why him” and they always answered “we saw a spark in you.” He was taught to harness magick, but deep down, his soul already knew how to do it. All they did was open the door a bit wider. His final test was a philosophical quest; to temporarily enter the Realm of the Dead. Using what they knew in magick, they propelled him to the Underworld. What he saw he does not say, to this very day. After this, his training as complete. He was a disciple of The Ebony Moths. He infrequently contacts the Moths, keeping in touch, but mostly does his own thing.
After his trials and tribulations, Edgar felt compelled to seek and destroy all harbingers of suffering, as per the Moth’s teachings. He became a hitman, a Dark Paladin of the Americas. While in America, he gained more strength, becoming an Ebony Adept. He recently ventured to Gielinor to see new places, and find more targets, and an apprentice of his own to teach.
Weaknesses: Edgar practices Ethereal Magick; He doesn’t throw fireballs, and he doesn’t summon rock pillars like elemental magic. This limits how much physical protection he gets.
Edgar is also limited by his surroundings; if he’s in a place constantly changing (such as a party, combat, or other frenetic areas) he can cast spells in a matter of seconds. If he’s in a place that doesn’t change much (such as a quiet forest with no breeze, or a sterile interrogation room with few furnishings) those effects can take as long as an hour to perform. Most places have a happy medium, where it takes a minute or two to make the effect. Powerful rituals take place on times of great transition, such as the solstices, beginnings of seasons, eclipses, and other times of the sort, thus limiting the times such rituals can be performed with any haste.
Edgar finds it incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to perform magick without proper actions meant to channel Magick. Properly impeded, only the greatest effort on his part will produce an effect, so he can be rendered almost helpless.
Edgar’s Soul is his power source. In the rare case it is destroyed or taken, he will lose almost all of his power.
His Soul constantly pushes him to reach Divinity-by-Ascension. The reason the soul hasn’t transcended yet is because all of Edgar’s previous incarnations died and were reborn before they could reach the difficult goal. As Edgar is pushed further and further to Perfection, he is exposed to more and more danger.
The magick he uses slowly taints his mind. The more he uses and abuses it without due respect, the faster it progresses. This death energy will eventually turn him into emotionless serial killer. It also affects his look, making him look like a pale, creepy ghoul. The Ebony Moths keep a sharp eye for this death taint, and will kill their own members if they are tainted enough.
Last, but certainly not least, is a force, dubbed Fire by the Ebony Moths. This occurs when Edgar tries to do something so blatantly magickal that the world itself shows its rejection. Such blatant acts are throwing fireballs, flying, teleporting, any visible act that appears physically impossible garners Fire. This backlash manifests as a sort of “Bad Karma”; if Edgar tries to teleport, space might twist to make things very difficult or painful for him, such as reversing his sight for a while, making him have to do everything with his back facing the source of his interest, and such other inconveniencing flaws. Powerful Fire could potentially kill him, such as turning himself inside-out spacially. It is called “Fire” because “Fiery” magick draws moths, and since they are made of wood, burn at its touch. A fiery action is also slang by the order to do something filled with hubris and/or something foolish.
Equipment: 1 Colt Buntline, enhanced by magick to almost never fail mechanically (it’ll never jam, etc.), and has a spirit inside of it, helping Edgar. This gun will misfire often lethally in the hands of any enemy or stranger of Edgar, or slightly jerk to throw a shot’s accuracy off.
1 knife, also inhabited by a spirit who will do the same things as the Colt’s spirit does.
3 more normal knives.
Trenchcoat and gloves.
Lockpick set.
