Name:
Chance Griggs, 'The Gambler'
Age:
22
Race:
Human
Place of Birth: Mesa, Arizona
Current city:
Tombstone, Arizona
Power(Genetic/Magic/Item):
[Magic] Probability Manipulation: Chance, in an amusing twist of fate, has the ability to alter the statistical probability of any given event. That said, while he cannot make events with a 0% likelihood occur, he can make highly improbable outcomes the most probable of outcomes. In his day-to-day life, this means that he can shift the odds in his favor in a one-sided manner, especially where random chance is involved. From winning the lottery to playing roulette, Chance is a very fortunate gambler. In combat, Chance manipulates the odds to cause misfortune for those around him.
[Magic] Luck Thief: Chance can drain the probability of good fortune from those nearby, causing them immediate misfortunes, and boosting his own. The effect is not permanent, and tends to fade within an hour of affliction.

He typically wears a cowboy hat, a poncho, slacks, and a nice shirt/vest combination, with a set of black cowboy boots.
Personality (At least 50 words):
Chance has a particularly self-assured and laid-back attitude, afforded to him by his spectacularly lucky nature. He's survived more scrapes through dumb luck than any man rightfully should. While he logically accepts that he isn't a god persay, sometimes that opinion leaks into his mannerisms. Aside from his Cookiey nature, he's largely a compassionate individual. He is well known for random acts of spontaneous charity.
History (At least 200 words):
Chance came of age just in time to miss out in the nightmarish clusterfuck that was the Vietnam War. His life was fairly ordinary, if depressing. He came from a notably poor family, and most of his siblings died while he was growing up. By the time he turned 17, he was the only member of his family not to have sucCookieb to illness. Chance kept lamenting his luck, until by the randomest of chances he encountered a traveling gypsy woman. The Young Chance gave the gypsy his last food, and shared his story with her. So emphatic was he in his lamentation of fate, that the elderly gypsy was moved. She gave him a deck of cards, and a small gold ingot. She told him that if he entered a poker game within the next week, his luck would surely improve.
Sure enough, Chance found himself winning game after game, and eventually became the World Poker Champion, winning fame and fortune for his luck and skill. Chance's string of luck was endless, surviving multiple assassination attempts by blind fortune, winning the lottery on multiple occasions. Eventually, Chance began testing his newfound ability in seedier ventures, where he became the unwritten king of russian roulette. He deduced that in moments where he needed luck most, he somehow stole it from those around him. Even opponents whom attempted to cheat would lost against the Gambler.
Chance now operates a large string of casinos, and is looking to break into the technology industry.
Weaknesses:
Chance is, at his basest level, just a human being. He can be slain by any number of injuries and illnesses, if he receives them. In addition, as stated previously, he cannot cause the impossible to become possible. He may only make the improbable probable.
Equipment:
Magic Deck of Cards; A Deck of uniquely styled playing cards, which never seems to run out of cards. The cards themselves can have a variety of short-term spell effects, which tend to last four seconds at longest. The cards are sharp enough when thrown to cause significant injury. Chance keeps the deck in a specially-constructed device in his sleeve, which allows him to rapidly draw cards.
